Fancy Friday Blog Hop - Color Challenge

Hello Friends! I'm so excited to be joining the Fancy Friday Blog Hop again! But first, as promised, the story of why I have been absent from blogging......

I'm not even sure where to start.....For those of you who are new to my blog....WELCOME, and, feel free to scroll down to the project :)

For those of you who know me, followed me years ago back when I was a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator and Artisan Design Team Member, and felt I suddenly dropped off the blogging planet, here's the reality: I DID drop off the blogging planet! HAHAHAHA! Actually, almost two years ago my family and I were faced with a life changing decision......I was offered my dream job of becoming a Concept Artist for Stampin' Up!

It was a very difficult decision for my family and I, but after a lot of thought, discussion, and contemplating the pros and cons, we decided to make the move down South to the Riverton Utah area where the Stampin' Up! home office is located. My husband still has the hour long commute to work, he is just commuting on the Interstate now rather than the beautiful scenic canyon drive that he loved. We are adjusting to living in the city with lots of crowding, people, and a constantly changing neighborhood, rather than enjoying the wide open spaces, quiet countryside, and close-knit community that we grew to love in Cache Valley. Gage has had to not only adjust to a new school where he has had to learn new rules and make new friends, but he also had to adjust to attending daycare, rather than always having me at home when he was. I'll admit.....it's been a tough adjustment for ALL of us, and we have been homesick many times! Especially Nate and Gage, since they have had to sacrifice the most to make my dream possible. But through it all, we have had each other, and I am so grateful for their love and support through all of the tough times and MANY changes! I could not have made my dream a reality without the two of them. I am blessed with such an amazing, loving, and supportive family, I owe everything to my husband and son. Long story short, I have been super busy, and blogging and crafting was put on the back burner. But here I am, trying to get back into it!

I think that sums it up in a nutshell.....

And now, back to your regularly (or,er, not so regular) scheduled blog post!

Each month on the last Friday, we will bring to you new challenges of all kinds (color, sketch, stamp focus, etc)! This month we are going with a color challenge:
New 2017-2019 In-Color Combo Challenge!

The challenge is to create any project using one of the new 2017-2019 In-Colors with one of the color combos proposed by Stampin' Up! Take a look at these fun color combos:
I tell you what.....I LOVE the new Lemon-Lime Twist! It is my MOST FAVORITE Stampin' Up! color EVERRRRRR!!! Lemon-Lime Twist is like a neutral color for me, it goes well with almost every color....seriously.....it's the new black!!! ;) So of course I had to use a color combo that included Lemon-Lime! Take a look at these fun cards:

For this first card, I used the Awesomely Artistic stamp set:

All supplies used Stampin' Up! unless otherwise noted

For the second card, I used the Detailed Dragonfly stamp set and Thinlits:

All supplies used Stampin' Up! unless otherwise noted

Fancy Friday Blog Hop - Step it Up!

So.....I am guilty of being MIA for quite some time! Story of what's been going on soon to come.....but for now, I am SOOOOOOO excited to be participating in the Fancy Friday blog hop again!

Each month on the last Friday, we will bring to you new challenges of all kinds (color, sketch, stamp focus, etc)! This month we are going with a simple theme: Step it Up!

Check out the Sketch:
 No automatic alt text available.

The idea is to use the sketch to create a simple card, and then to create the same card a little more " stepped up".

The first card is my simple card created with just the basics (stamps, ink, paper).

For the "stepped up" card I added some die cut pieces, washi tape, and baker's twine.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Let's move along on our hop and see what  Marisa has created to inspire us!

Stampin' Up! Artisan Blog Hop-Watercolor Wings

Hello! Welcome back to another Stampin' Up! Artisan Design Team Blog Hop! Join us each week as Stampin' Up! Artisan Design Team members from around the world share our ideas using Stampin' Up! products with you!

The new Stampin' Up! Catalog has gone live and you can now order all of the fabulous new products that the Stampin' Up! Artisan Design Team has been featuring! This week we are featuring the Watercolor Wings stamp set and the Bold Butterfly framelits which, BONUS, you can bundle them together and save $$$! Who doesn't love to save?!

I'll be honest. . . I loved the Butterfly Basics set and Butterfly Thinlits Dies that came out in the Occasions Catalog back in January. . . but, after making so many butterfly cards, I am soooooo over butterflies! Whaaaa??!! I DID NOT JUST SAY THAT! Sorry, I hope I have not offended any of you! I have seen so many butterfly cards I think I am eating, sleeping, and ........ butterflies!

Ya know what I love that is super trendy right now? Cacti and succulents. Yup! So. . . I modified my stamps in the Watercolor Wings stamp set to meet my desire to create a fun cactus card! Sorry. . . no butterflies here! Hope I haven't disappointed you, but I am quite proud of myself on this clever little card:

I think Jeanna would be quite proud of me too! Be sure and check out the video below to see how I used the butterfly images to create this little cactus!
Let's continue on the hop and go take a look at Cindy's fabulous project!
