Artisan Wednesday Wow

Hello! Welcome to the first August edition of  Artisan Wednesday Wow where we hope to inspire you all to live creatively! Be sure to check back each Wednesday to see the fun projects the Artisan Design Team has created. You should be arriving from Alanna's blog, isn't she awesome? I love her stuff!

Reduce, reuse, recycle. . . that seems to be everyone's motto these days. Though I do my part to recycle what I can, I love to re-purpose things as well. My son and I have all sorts of fun seeing what fun contraptions we can come up with for a cardboard shipping box. One time we made a car that had a steering wheel which actually turned, and a door that opened up! Though I was skeptical of the idea at first, my son was confident that I knew how to make it. Kids always have the best creative ideas because in their minds there is no limit! Playing with my son definitely helps me to live more creatively!

One thing at my house that always goes used to go into the recycle bin? Toilet paper rolls. I seriously should have bought stock in Charmin Ultra Soft toilet paper, though there are only three bottoms in this household, it seriously seems as if we go through at least 4 or 5 rolls of TP a week! What ever should I do with my boundless supply of empty toilet paper rolls? Give them away! I know, who wants TP rolls, right? But what if they looked like this?

And inside these cute little TP roll pillow boxes was a yummy treat, or gift, or some fun surprise?

Like a kid with a cardboard box, the possibilities are endless! You can make favors for a wedding, bridal shower, baby shower, or a gift card holder for a special friend, teacher, or UPS guy. . . that reminds me, I need to make one for my UPS guy; I have given him quite the workload these last few months! Anyway, I hope this has inspired you in some way, even if it is just to take a second glance at your TP roll before giving it the boot to the recycle bin!

Oh, but wait. . . I have something! Thanks to Stampin' Up! who so generously gave me the Label Love stamp set and Artisan Label Punch (which I already own) I now have a

  13. Little ones love to create candles out of to rolls and use for the Christmas tree or birthday decoration. Just cover the roll in favorite paper and cut out a flame in orange and adhere flame to it and you're done. Cute and super easy for the'liitle kids!

  14. What a clever way to use a tp roll. So cute! I think I would try to use it as gift packaging sort of like a tootsie roll with the gift inside the tp tube.

  21. I just started saving TP rolls and the first 3 - I decorated with dsp and washi taape to slip over extension cords that are not being used. I love your idea of making cute little pillow boxes with them. Going to try that - I just happen to have 2 more right now. Thanks for the idea.

  22. Love this project! Such a cute use of TP Rolls! I have been wanting to create princess tiaras with my daughters out of TP Rolls... cut little triangles out of the tops and decorate with glitter and rhinestones. I just don't know how they would stay on their heads! Thanks again for the great share and the chance to win!
