Fancy Friday-Flashback

Hello, and happy FANCY FRIDAY!!! This month we are doing a flashback. . .

The challenge this month is to use one of our favorite sets from the past in conjunction with new and current Stampin' Up! Products to create something all new. Hmmmm. . . this was very challenging for me because I have TONS of retired sets that I absolutely love and picking just one was very difficult! But, I finally found a way to make the decision easy. . .

A GIVEAWAY!!!!

Yup. I have a free giveaway! I apparently loved this set so much that somehow I ended up with two of them! So, I have one in my retired collection, as well as an unused, unmounted set to giveaway! How can you win this gorgeous set? Simply leave a comment and let me know your favorite retired Stampin' Up! stamp set. Then, be sure to check back next Fancy Friday (the last Friday of each month) to see if you are the winner! Yup, it's that easy! And, if you want to participate in this month's Fancy Friday challenge, leave me a link to your blog post featuring your creation and I will put in 5 extra chances for you to win!

I LOVE the new blendabilities, and thought this image presented a perfect opportunity to use them! Because these are alcohol based markers, it made blending the lightest of the Soft Sky and the lightest of the Rich Razzleberry (though I am thinking perhaps I should have used the Wisteria Wonder) super easy to create the look of a hydrangea. Check out this card:

Not a fan of all the junk and layers? Like a more trendy, modern, clean and simple card? Don't write this set of just yet! Use some bright colors paired with black and white space and you change the look of  the set completely! For this super quick note card, I simply stamped the splatter image from the Gorgeous Grunge set in three different colors, and then stamped to flower over them in black. Easy peasy!

Wanna see more cards created with this set? Be sure to check out this post and this post for cards from the past!

That's it for me folks! Now, let's head In The Cat Cave and see what Cathy's fav set is, shall we?!

  8. Oh my goodness talk about showing the versatility of a stamp. I love both cards though completely different. A favorite retired stamp set I wish that I had snagged was off the grid. So glad when my mailbox starts filling up with Fancy Friday post. You are all awesome.

Thanks for bring back the oldies. Love both of your cards today and will going to the table with these ideas.
