Fancy Friday Blog Hop - Color Challenge

Hello Friends! I'm so excited to be joining the Fancy Friday Blog Hop again! But first, as promised, the story of why I have been absent from blogging......

I'm not even sure where to start.....For those of you who are new to my blog....WELCOME, and, feel free to scroll down to the project :)

For those of you who know me, followed me years ago back when I was a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator and Artisan Design Team Member, and felt I suddenly dropped off the blogging planet, here's the reality: I DID drop off the blogging planet! HAHAHAHA! Actually, almost two years ago my family and I were faced with a life changing decision......I was offered my dream job of becoming a Concept Artist for Stampin' Up!

It was a very difficult decision for my family and I, but after a lot of thought, discussion, and contemplating the pros and cons, we decided to make the move down South to the Riverton Utah area where the Stampin' Up! home office is located. My husband still has the hour long commute to work, he is just commuting on the Interstate now rather than the beautiful scenic canyon drive that he loved. We are adjusting to living in the city with lots of crowding, people, and a constantly changing neighborhood, rather than enjoying the wide open spaces, quiet countryside, and close-knit community that we grew to love in Cache Valley. Gage has had to not only adjust to a new school where he has had to learn new rules and make new friends, but he also had to adjust to attending daycare, rather than always having me at home when he was. I'll admit.....it's been a tough adjustment for ALL of us, and we have been homesick many times! Especially Nate and Gage, since they have had to sacrifice the most to make my dream possible. But through it all, we have had each other, and I am so grateful for their love and support through all of the tough times and MANY changes! I could not have made my dream a reality without the two of them. I am blessed with such an amazing, loving, and supportive family, I owe everything to my husband and son. Long story short, I have been super busy, and blogging and crafting was put on the back burner. But here I am, trying to get back into it!

I think that sums it up in a nutshell.....

And now, back to your regularly (or,er, not so regular) scheduled blog post!

Each month on the last Friday, we will bring to you new challenges of all kinds (color, sketch, stamp focus, etc)! This month we are going with a color challenge:
New 2017-2019 In-Color Combo Challenge!

The challenge is to create any project using one of the new 2017-2019 In-Colors with one of the color combos proposed by Stampin' Up! Take a look at these fun color combos:
I tell you what.....I LOVE the new Lemon-Lime Twist! It is my MOST FAVORITE Stampin' Up! color EVERRRRRR!!! Lemon-Lime Twist is like a neutral color for me, it goes well with almost every color....seriously.....it's the new black!!! ;) So of course I had to use a color combo that included Lemon-Lime! Take a look at these fun cards:

For this first card, I used the Awesomely Artistic stamp set:

All supplies used Stampin' Up! unless otherwise noted

For the second card, I used the Detailed Dragonfly stamp set and Thinlits:

All supplies used Stampin' Up! unless otherwise noted

Gorgeous, and chuck FULL of inspiration, isn't it?! I love the softness of the colors and patterns, and the subtle earthy tones that pull it all together. A gentle balance between nature and a serene "girlishness". So, here's what came out of it for me. . .

Inspiration can be drawn from so many places, now go out and explore! But first, be sure to check out the rest of the hop and see what inspires this amazing group of talented ladies! Let's head In the Cat Cave, shall we?!

Fancy Friday-Sketch Challenge

Hello everybody! Welcome back to another Fancy Friday! For this month's theme we are featuring a sketch challenge by the amazing Jen Timko! She is the sketch queen! I love the simplicity of her sketch, it leaves it open for many different interpretations! You can choose to go simple, or choose to go all out, and in my case I did both! (you'll get to see another card created with this sketch on my blog next month).

Check out the fun sketch:

and here is my take. . .
How funny, as I post them next to each other I realized I followed her color scheme too! Hahahah! Totally unintentional!

Love the foil on the card? ME TOO! I have been a foiling fool lately! I just can't get enough of it! Check out the video below to see how I used my Boho Chic embossing folder (available from Stampin' Up! June 2nd) to create the background for my card!

I must pause and put in a disclaimer so that I don't get in trouble by the compliance police. . .

*The above project and video below are not sponsored or promoted in any way by Stampin' Up!, American Crafts, or Heidi Swapp. I have NOT received compensation in any form including (but not limited to) monetary gain or free product. This is my own personal product usage and evaluation!

Okay, on with the show!

Fun, eh?!

Fancy Friday-Make it Masculine!

Hello Everyone! Welcome back to another Fancy Friday! For this month's hop we have challenged ourselves to make it masculine! I'm not sure about you, but my projects seem to be over-riddled with girlishness! Perhaps it is because I am the only girl in a house full of guys. So, I thought I would try and make the most of this challenge.

I own very few masculine sets. . . in fact, the only current masculine set I own is Guy Greetings from the Occasions Catalog. I could have very easily created a man card using Guy Greetings, but then where would be the challenge?! Instead I decided to take the challenge a step further and use a very girly set and try to make it masculine. Since I have been busy creating projects for my next round of Stamps in the Mail using the Hello Darling set, I thought. . . .sure, why not?! I can make Hello Darling masculine, can't I?! Hmmmm. . . let's see. . . here is the image of the set. . .
