Fancy Friday-Sketch Challenge

Hello everybody! Welcome back to another Fancy Friday! For this month's theme we are featuring a sketch challenge by the amazing Jen Timko! She is the sketch queen! I love the simplicity of her sketch, it leaves it open for many different interpretations! You can choose to go simple, or choose to go all out, and in my case I did both! (you'll get to see another card created with this sketch on my blog next month).

How funny, as I post them next to each other I realized I followed her color scheme too! Hahahah! Totally unintentional!

Love the foil on the card? ME TOO! I have been a foiling fool lately! I just can't get enough of it! Check out the video below to see how I used my Boho Chic embossing folder (available from Stampin' Up! June 2nd) to create the background for my card!

    I just watched the video of foiling; I'd always wondered how the look was done! Thank you for the video and I subscribed! I would love to win the heat & stick powder and embossing folder. I fell in love withe the bohemian collection when I first saw them!

    I had never heard of the Minc machine for foiling but I'm impressed! Makes such a beautiful embellishment and the Bohemian folder is the perfect design for this technique.

    Great video! Haven't tried this technique yet. You make look so easy ... Will have to check out the local craft store to investigate this product. Beautiful card as always. Love fancy fridays!!

    Becky, such a beautiful card! I've never seen foiling before and appreciate your video. I love the look and also wondered how it was done. This new embossing folder is perfect for this technique! I'll have to look into your machine. ; )

    I have not heard of foiling, it looks like laminating, do you know how your minc machine is different from a laminator? could foil be used in a laminator? I wonder... Love your technique, I have used my EF for inking but this is very cool! Thanks for the opportunity!

      Hi Laurie!

      The Minc actually is a laminator! With the Minc, there are 6 different heat settings, I am not sure what the differences are between the Minc and other laminators, I would think it would depend on the laminator. But, if you have a laminating machine you should be able to use this technique!

    Hi Becky! Loved you demonstration of the Minc machine. I have heard of it before, but this is the first time I have seen it used. It looks like it would be a ton of fun to use! (I think you live too far away to come by your house for a personal lesson! LOL!) Love your Fancy Friday card where you did the background piece with the gold foil.     I'm not familiar with this type of foiling or the Minc, but I have used foil "flakes" in the past to add interest. I love to see new techniques so TFS.
