Fancy Friday-Sketch Challenge

Hello everybody! Welcome back to another Fancy Friday! For this month's theme we are featuring a sketch challenge by the amazing Jen Timko! She is the sketch queen! I love the simplicity of her sketch, it leaves it open for many different interpretations! You can choose to go simple, or choose to go all out, and in my case I did both! (you'll get to see another card created with this sketch on my blog next month).

Check out the fun sketch:

and here is my take. . .
How funny, as I post them next to each other I realized I followed her color scheme too! Hahahah! Totally unintentional!

Love the foil on the card? ME TOO! I have been a foiling fool lately! I just can't get enough of it! Check out the video below to see how I used my Boho Chic embossing folder (available from Stampin' Up! June 2nd) to create the background for my card!

I must pause and put in a disclaimer so that I don't get in trouble by the compliance police. . .

*The above project and video below are not sponsored or promoted in any way by Stampin' Up!, American Crafts, or Heidi Swapp. I have NOT received compensation in any form including (but not limited to) monetary gain or free product. This is my own personal product usage and evaluation!

Okay, on with the show!

Fun, eh?!

Wanna participate with this month's sketch challenge? Leave a comment below with a link to your take so I can see what you come up with!

Now, let's head In The Cat Cave and see what the amazing Cathy came up with for the sketch, shall we?!

Dirty Little Secret. . .

Ha Ha! I knew that title would get your attention! Do I have a dirty little secret? Well. . . yes, actually, I do. I wasn't going to tell anyone, but I will share with all of you. Here it goes: I often find myself struggling to come up with layout ideas. There, my secret is out! I know, I know, I should be good at this. . . but sometimes I want to create and I will have the perfect color combination in mind, or a fun technique that I want to try, but I often get stumped when it comes to an idea for the layout or "sketch" for my project! That is why on days like today, when I WANT to get my craft on, but there just doesn't seem to be any craftiness in me, I will try out a sketch challenge like this one from retro sketches:

Sketch challenges are a great way to give you a base starting point when you are struggling to create. Plus, there are always some great ideas from other "players" that are sure to spark your creativity and help you get going! Here is my take on the sketch:

One more thing before I go. . . have you all been anticipating the winner of the Geometrical stamp set I have to giveaway from last week's ADT blog hop? Well, today is the day I announce the winner my friends! Remember, you MUST be a follower or subscriber to my blog in order to win a giveaway! I drew a name of a random commenter, but they weren't a follower or subscriber, so I had to draw again. . . sad, I know! But lucky for another, the winner of the prize is: (drum-roll . . . . )
